KNOW YOUR STRESSORS |
|
Four Categories of Stressors ……. Stressors are those factors which are percieved to be the cause of initiating the stressful condition inside us. As an exercise in self assessment read through the list of following stressors and identify your stressors, so that you may be better prepared when you come across these factors. There are four categories of stressors. Repeat such self-assessment periodically to see the changes in your perception to your stressors.1. Lifestyle stressors Poor relationships Time pressure Financial problems Family problems / responsibilities Air pollution / Sound pollution Overcrowding / Traffic jams Waiting in queues Housing problems Long time - no holidays Been away from Nature for long 2. Body stressors You have had a recent accident / illness You are not physically fit You have poor sleep You neglect your food You are not fit or satisfied sexually You overeat or overdrink You smoke / take drugs You don’t take regular exercises You are driven more by moods 3. Work stressors I am over worked. Work load affecting my personal life. I am under valued or poorly paid. Feel discriminated. Not getting a proper work environment. I do not get along with my co-workers. Too much politics in work place. I ‘stuff’ my feelings or blow up easily. My efforts don’t match my ambitions. Cannot take quick decisions. I am relying more on fate nowadays. 4. Mind stressors No love for my work Not loved or respected properly Disrespect puts me off completely Handling anger is too much for me I worry a lot about future Feel jealous at others success I can’t see the funny side of a situation I can’t concentrate properly I keep repeating my mistakes I feel I am not good enough I doubt whether I can be a success |
